Information of the new TAMRON Product naming convention
Information of the new TAMRON Product naming convention
Starting with the new TAMRON 12-20mm F2.8 (Model A084), we are introducing a simplified product naming convention for new lenses.
With this new naming concept, we want to make our product names clearer and easier to understand. In future, the main focus will be even more strongly on focal length and maximum aperture, so that the key product specifications can be recognized by customers at a glance.
The most important changes at a glance:
Greater emphasis is placed on focal length and maximum aperture.
The “/” in the F-number is removed. Going forward, the correct format will be, for example, F2.8 instead of F/2.8.
The terms “Di III” and “Di III-A” are removed.
The suffix “VXD” will also no longer be used in the product name.
For future models for APS-C cameras, only the suffix “A” will be used at the end of the product name.
In concrete terms, this means:
Previous style:
12-20mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A084)
New style:
12-20mm F2.8 (Model A084)
Please note that starting with the TAMRON 12-20mm F2.8 (Model A084), only the new product naming convention may be used. We kindly ask you to adopt this naming format in all dealer texts, product presentations, newsletters, online shops, and all other communication materials going forward.
