“Falling and Rising Again” – The Story of an Image

We met Olivier Unia at the Salon de la Photo in Paris, six months after he won the Sony World Photography Awards 2025. The French photographer, who has been living in Morocco for 17 years, won this prestigious award for a moving image taken during a Tbourida, a spectacular Moroccan equestrian event. The image, taken with the TAMRON 35-150mm F/2-2.8 Di III VXD (model A058), captures a moment suspended in time: a rider falling, surrounded by dust and the golden light of sunset. For some, this scene is synonymous with failure—but for him, it is a metaphor for life: falling, getting back up, and continuing to move forward. “You have to be brave to get back up.”
