The TAMRON 11-20mm F2.8 ultra wide-angle zoom lens features a constant aperture of F2.8. Despite its fast F2.8 aperture, the lens is very small and feels perfectly balanced when attached to a compact APS-C mirrorless camera body. With the full-frame equivalent zoom range of 16.5-30mm, it’s the ideal lens for everyday use. At the 11mm ultra wide-angle end, the lens allows stunning close-range shooting performance, with its MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.15m (5.9 in) and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4. This feature invites creative wide-angle macro shooting that exploits the unique perspective that only ultra wide-angle lenses can provide. Additionally, the quiet RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor AF drive is perfect for both still and video use. This zoom lens is protected by Moisture-Resistant Construction and durable Fluorine Coating that provide extra protection when shooting outdoors. The compact size, fast F2.8 aperture, practical zoom range and superb image quality make the 11-20mm zoom an ideal choice for travel, landscape, street, and general photography.

The 11-20mm F2.8 is a bona fide ultra wide-angle zoom lens with an aperture of F2.8 across the entire zoom range. Additionally, it’s remarkably compact (86.5mm / 3.4 in) and lightweight (335g / 11.8 oz). With this great portability, it provides a comfortable user experience for still photography and for shooting video using a small tripod or gimbal stabilizer. You can enjoy the unique and powerful world of ultra wide-angle photography at the 11mm end (a full-frame equivalent of 16.5mm). Ideal for everyday use, the 20mm focal length (a full-frame equivalent of 30mm) is well suited for casual snapshot photography such as street shooting. With its usefulness rooted in its compact, lightweight design and fast F2.8 aperture, the 11-20mm F2.8 provides an exciting shooting experience with greater freedom in diverse shooting situations.

The 11-20mm F2.8 construction includes 12 elements in 10 groups. Two precisely located GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements assure high resolution across the entire image, from edge to edge. In addition, the 11-20mm F2.8 incorporates one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and two LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements to produce sharp images with optical aberrations highly corrected. It also features the BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating that suppresses ghosting and flare to a minimum level and reveals the minute details of objects even when the subject is backlit. The combination of features harmonizes to provide sharp images with natural colors and rich saturation. 

The AF drive mechanism incorporates TAMRON’s RXD stepping motor unit. This very fast and accurate autofocus operation allows users to maintain tack-sharp focus on continuously moving subjects and is perfect for both still and video use. Thanks to the exceedingly quiet AF, the lens can be used unobtrusively for indoor shooting, video content creation and other situations that require low noise levels.

The 11-20mm F2.8 boasts an MOD of 0.15m (5.9 in) at the 11mm focal length setting and 0.24m (9.4 in) at the 20mm end. This results in better and more versatile close-range shooting performance than existing ultra wide-angle zoom lenses at their widest focal length. At the 11mm setting, the lens has an astonishing maximum magnification ratio of 1:4 that enables wide-angle macro photography that parlays the perspective unique to ultra wide-angle lenses while also leveraging the expressive bokeh provided by the fast, maximum aperture of this lens. 

Seals are located at the lens mount area and other critical locations to deter infiltration of moisture and/or rain drops and afford Moisture-Resistant Construction. Also, the front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound that has excellent water- and oil-repellant qualities.
