Conditions of TAMRON 5-year warranty
Tamron Europe GmbH (hereinafter referred to as "TAMRON") guarantees under the following conditions that the products sold by TAMRON in the European Union (EU), Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, Andorra, Gibraltar, Serbia, Iceland and the United Kingdom are free of defects under normal use and maintenance during the agreed warranty period. If a product proves to be defective during the warranty period, TAMRON will repair it free of charge in accordance with these warranty conditions or replace it free of charge with a replacement device of the same series or a comparable successor model.
1. Authorized customers
End customers who are resident in the European Union (EU), Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, Andorra, Gibraltar, Serbia, Iceland or the United Kingdom and who have registered their TAMRON product purchased in one of these countries via their TAMRON customer account within 2 months of purchase are entitled to the 5-year warranty. The warranty is only valid upon confirmation of the customer's registration by TAMRON or the respective national TAMRON partner. It is not transferable.
2. Warranty period
This warranty is valid for a period of five years from the date of purchase of the product. The date on the purchase receipt is decisive.
3. Warranty fulfillment
(1) To make a warranty claim, the customer must send the product to a TAMRON Service Center within the scope of this warranty. The warranty service will be performed exclusively by the authorized TAMRON Service Centers within the scope of this warranty. The product must be accompanied by a copy of the purchase receipt, the registration confirmation for the 5-year warranty and a description of the material defect that is as precise as possible.
(2) The rejected product must be sent free of charge. The customer also undertakes to ensure adequate insurance and packaging of the shipment at his own expense.
4. Services provided by TAMRON
(1) In the event of a material defect within the meaning of these warranty conditions, TAMRON shall repair the product free of charge or replace it free of charge with a replacement device of the same series or a comparable successor model. If the examination of the complaint shows that there is no warranty claim, TAMRON will provide a cost estimate for the necessary repairs.
(2) Returns will only be accepted within the European Union (EU), Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, Andorra, Gibraltar, Serbia, Iceland or the United Kingdom. TAMRON shall bear the costs of domestic return shipping; TAMRON shall not bear the costs of international shipping.
Defective products sent in, which are replaced by a replacement device, become the property of TAMRON and will not be returned to the customer.
5. Warranty exclusions
(1) Defects resulting from one or more of the following events are excluded from the warranty:
intentional or unintentional operating errors (see operating instructions), improper handling of the product or modifications to the product, misuse of the product for other purposes
improper repair/service interventions by third parties not authorized by TAMRON
Incorrect storage, improper transportation
external force, e.g. fall, impact
Contamination from dust, sand, dirt, moisture, liquids
Signs of wear and tear due to particularly heavy use in accordance with regulations, use under extreme conditions
(2) If the serial number has been removed or made illegible, this warranty shall expire.
(3) This warranty applies to TAMRON lenses for DSLR and mirrorless cameras, TAMRON teleconverters and TAP-In consoles for these lenses, purchased as new by first end users (first purchasers) in the European Union (EU), Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, Andorra, Gibraltar, Serbia, Iceland and the United Kingdom and which were delivered by TAMRON to a contractual partner located in these countries within 2 years prior to the date of purchase.
Products that have come within the scope of the guarantee by other means are expressly excluded from this guarantee, as are accessories (covers, lens hoods, tripod clamps, cables, etc.).
6. Data protection
By registering for the 5-year warranty, the customer agrees to the storage of his data by TAMRON and to the use of his data by TAMRON and the TAMRON Service Centers authorized to process the warranty. The data will not be passed on to third parties and will only be used for processing purposes within the scope of these terms and conditions.
7. Others
(1) This guarantee is a supplement to existing statutory provisions. The guarantee does not affect the respective country-specific legal claims of the customer or the customer's rights against the seller arising from the purchase contract. In the absence of national legislation in this respect, the customer may rely exclusively on this guarantee upon registration.
(2) No claims can be derived from this guarantee that go beyond repair or, if applicable, replacement of the product and are excluded under these guarantee conditions, in particular claims for compensation for consequential damages of any kind (e.g. loss of earnings, loss of image material, loss of data, photographer's fees/reimbursement of travel expenses, etc.).
(3) Guarantees and assurances given by third parties over and above the guarantees and product characteristics promised by TAMRON itself shall not be binding on TAMRON unless confirmed in writing by TAMRON.
(4) Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions prove to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part or become invalid or unenforceable as a result of changes in legislation after publication, the remaining provisions and their validity as a whole shall remain unaffected.
